Hapalua Hawaii Half Marathon
Location:   Begins at the Duke Kahanomoku Statue, Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, Hawaii

The Hapalua Hawaii Half Marathon, or ‘Hawaii’s Half Marathon,’ is a very popular half marathon and relay that features a unique element called, ‘The Chase.’ In ‘The Chase’, the best local runners get a head start on the best professional runners in the world.  The professional runners then ‘run down’ the amateur, local runners.

The Hapalua Half Marathon begins at the iconic Duke Kahanamoku statue in the heart of Waikiki and leads runners along Waikiki Beach, and past spectators, entertainment and food along the course.

Further into the marathon, runners circle the 475-acre park around Diamond Head Crater State Monument, one of Honolulu’s most famous landmarks.
