Oahu Things to Do: Oahu Farmers Markets

One of the best things to do when visiting Oahu is to visit any of the amazing Oahu Farmers Markets to enjoy tasty food, a bit of local culture and explore local crafts and merchandise.

These are unusual times so with restrictions being put in place and lifted with little notice, please confirm the operating hours before visiting any of the tours, venues or attractions mentioned in this article. 

There are countless attractions, activities and of course all the beautiful beaches to enjoy during your visit to Oahu. Perhaps an activity you may not be aware of are the various Farmers Markets that are held across the island of Oahu.

Oahu Farmers Markets offer a wonderful collection of local foods, crafts, clothing, local fruits and vegetables and various handmade items. Often the Farmers Markets will feature live music, and these are great places to find truly unique souvenirs.

There are a number of Oahu Farmers Markets which have been held for many years across Oahu and there are some newer Farmers Markets that pop-up, but the following list includes the more established and most popular Farmers Markets you may want to check out during your visit.
 

Aloha Stadium Marketplace and Swap Meet – Website
This marketplace is perhaps the most widely known of all Oahu Farmers Markets and Swap Meets on the island. This market began in 1979 and is held at the famous Aloha Stadium 3 days a week, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. With over 400 vendors this is also the largest open-air market on Oahu. You will find many varieties of items including handmade crafts, souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, paintings and related artwork, farms stands offering fruits and vegetables, pre-packaged food, Hawaii-inspired items, paintings and various artwork and more. 

KCC Farmers Market – Website  
The main Farmers Market is hosted every Saturday with smaller markets held on Tuesdays. The market features 50+ vendors offering a selection of handmade items, prepared foods and fresh fruits and vegetables, packaged food and more. The market is held at Kapiolani Community College in Diamond Head so perhaps you can plan to hike Diamond Head Crater and then stop by the Farmers Market to enjoy some great food and fresh fruit drinks!

Farmers Markets offer a wide variety of fresh, locally sourced produce, fruits, handmade crafts, clothes & more.

McCully Farmers Market – Website  
This market is open Saturday’s 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and is held at the McCully Shopping Center parking lot. You will fand a wide variety of fresh vegetables, herbs, Manoa lettuce, bananas, apples and more. Find skin care products, fresh flowers, and freshly made Shave Ice, desserts, ice cream items to name a few.

Waikiki Specialty Farmers Market – Website  
This smaller Farmers Market is hosted at the Jefferson Elementary School lawn each Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You can find fresh fruits and vegetables, prepared foods, handmade items, crafts, artwork by local artists and more.

Honolulu Farmers Market – Website
This market is currently open every Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Blaisdell Center. This Farmers Market is known for its variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, freshly made drinks, locally sourced Honey (don’t miss this) and food items. You will also find clothes items, handmade crafts and live music. There is free parking as well.
