Visit Pearl Harbor
Location: USS Arizona Memorial | 1 Arizona Memorial Pl, Honolulu, HI 96818
Pearl Harbor is a collection of 5 historic sites that pay respect to people who lost their lives in the events that occurred at Pearl Harbor in Central Oahu on December 7, 1941. On that day in the United States, a “date that will live in infamy,” devastation took place that changed the course of history. The surprise air attack on Hawaii by the Japanese plunged the U.S. into World War II and claimed thousands of Americans’ lives.

Children can hear first-hand stories from survivors and even walk through an airplane hangar that shows signs of what happened that fateful morning.

Battleship at Pearl Oahu - a Honolulu Attraction
The chance to explore a battleship is an exciting prospect for visitors of all ages.

Bishop Museum Oahu
Location: 1525 Bernice Street, Honolulu, HI 96817 | Tel: 808.847.3511
The Bishop Museum Oahu holds the largest collection of Hawaiian artifacts in our state. It’s Hawaii’s largest museum dedicated to the study and preservation of the Hawaiian Islands and the Pacific. The museum was originally designed as a home for the extensive collection of artifacts preserved from Hawaii’s early days, as well as royal family heirlooms belonging to Princess Bernice Pauahi who was a descendant of King Kamehameha I. Today, it is the premier cultural and natural history institution in the Pacific.

Children enjoy exploring this historic place. They love uncovering documents, photographs, and artifacts depicting the culture of Hawaii and other Polynesian communities. There is a Hawaiian Hall at the museum that immerses visitors in Native Hawaiian history and culture. At the museum’s planetarium, kids learn about the voyagers that navigated the Pacific using only the stars.

Dole Plantation Pineapple Garden Maze
Location: 64-1550 Kamehameha Hwy, Wahiawa, Hawaii 96786 | Tel: 808-621-8408
In 2008, Dole Plantation’s sprawling Pineapple Garden Maze earned the title of the world’s largest maze. It stretches more than 3 acres and includes almost 2-1/2 miles of pathways created from 14,000 beautiful and colorful native Hawaiian plants. When kids walk through this maze, they can search for secret stations that lead to better understanding of the mystery at the heart of the labyrinth. The flora of the islands guides guests on an adventure through what is one of only a handful of mazes in the U.S. that is permanently fixed.

Of course, the beach is always a top way to spend a day during a visit to Hawaii. When you choose to stay at Ambassador Hotel Waikiki Beach, one of the world’s most famous beaches is just a short walk away!
