Fun Ideas for a Family Day in Paradise!

From surfing to swimming with dolphins, there are many exciting kid-friendly Oahu things to do!

Ambassador Hotel Waikiki Beach welcomes families, and we’re always happy to suggest ideas for fun things the whole family can do together. Because we get this question a lot, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite ideas for family fun!

Waikiki Aquarium

The Waikiki Aquarium is one of the most popular Honolulu Attractions. More than 330,000 people visit each year to see the thousands of examples of marine life from 490 species. Special activities such as Meet the Monk Seals and Aquarium After Dark make this Oahu Thing to Do a favorite with kids and adults alike.

The zoo wants to provide a fun place to spend an afternoon, but they also want to help visitors understand the importance of conservation and working to save these creatures.

The Dole Plantation is home to many fun activities that appeal to children. Visitors of all ages love to take a ride on the Pineapple Express, a train that putts around a 2-mile route. The Pineapple Maze is the largest such maze in the world, and visitors can meander around its 3-acres as they try to find their way out.

Sea Life Park

The 300,000 gallon tank at this Honolulu Attraction is home to several types of sharks, but what many visitors love most about a visit to Sea Life Park is the chance to get up close to some of the marine life. Swimming with dolphins is a popular choice, and a shallow water pool means that even young visitors have the chance to frolic with the dolphins.

From winter through early spring, humpback whales can be seen just off the coast of Oahu, and enjoying a whale watching excursion is a memorable activity that kids will love.
